If you don’t know about local artist Michael Bolton, you should.

Michael hasn’t exhibited in a year and a half, and he’s making his triumphant return to St. Louis’ art scene on April 19, 2013 when he unveils his show, Blends and Drips at SPACE. The exhibition will feature Michael’s newest, never-before-seen paintings.

In heavily impastoed abstract pieces that incorporate bold combinations of color and expressive textures, Michael’s paintings evoke landscapes and other natural scenes. To create such dramatic designs and patterns, Michael paints on wood with acrylic paints and caulk, using brushes, palette knives, screwdrivers and other household items.

Michael’s work is a staff favorite, and we’re honored he agreed to let us host Blends and Drips. Please join us for the opening cocktail reception at our studio on Friday, April 19, 2013 from 5 to 7 PM.
